Heraldry or Family Crest work makes a beautiful, family heirloom and a wonderful stained glass window. Crests can be made as a single hanging window, installed into an existing opening or used in backlit wall hanging (such as a lightbox).

Below are examples of Family Crests I have made. These crests are shown here to illustrate different design complexities. Some are made by sandblasting on a hand rolled "flashed "glass and then painted on to create the different colors and symbols within the crest. Some are made by silk screening with stained glass paints and then kiln fired. The silk screening technique lends itself to a more affordalbe application. The estimates are for the art work shown in each window. Some crests are more simplistic and some more intricate, and the price would be adapted to reflect this.

Brennan Crest

The finished size of this window is 28" x 28". The crest is made by sand blasting red flashed glass leaving only the red for the hands and painting in the detail of the lion. The crown was sand blasted on teal green glass and then hand painting the detail in. Border is sand blasted on blue flashed glass. An estimate for a window this size with artwork would be $750.00.

Small crest

This window measures 11" x 12". The center is sand blasted red glass on a gold background and then the gold glass has the details of the lions and wheat painted in. The helmet and feathers hand painted.
The apx. price is $245.00.

Brennan Crest

This window has a hand painted crest, sand blasted detail on border and symbols by the crest. The green border was silk screened. This window is measure at 20" x 18", apx. price $420.00.

Fraser Clan Badge

This is 10" x 12". It is made by silk screening the border, and a combination of sandblasting and hand painting in the center.
the apx. price is $295.00.

Hungarian town cest

This crest started out as red piece of flashed glass. I sand blasted everything off except for the red trim in the crest border, the red in the mans pants, the top of the castle and the red stripes in the flags. Then I hand painted all of the detail in. There are many firings of paint to achieve the many colors and details. It was inspired to represent a town crest of Hungry. The finished size is 8" x 10".

Garcia Crest

I worked with the client to design this crest to represent his two families and the tradition from both family backgrounds. Hand painted, silk screened and etched on flashed glass. Finished size 3' x 3'. The apx. price is $1,375.00.

Coleman Crest 12" x 12"

This crest was inspired by the design of the Garcia crest and adapted from a 32" x 32" to a 12" x 12". The border is silk screened, the crest was hand painted. There is no sandblasting in this window. The price is apx. $235.00.

Wedding window

A wedding present, inspired by the church windows where the couple was married, from looking at a photograph taken at the wedding. This window shows elements possible for crest windows. The art work is mostly accomplished by silk screening. This window is approximately 18" x 30". The cost of this window is $875.00.

Walker Crest

This crest was silk screened. This process is the most economical because the glass can be painted and fired in one process. As with the other crest with more colors and many processes to achieve the end result. Also the glass is more affordable. The border was sandblasted and it has a beautiful inner beveled border. Most of the glass in this window was clear hand blown. The size is apx 14" x 14". The cost would be apx. $250.00

O'Brien-Fiztgerald Crest

This is a two family crest joined together to make one crest. The center crest part is made by sand blasting and than painting on red flashed glass. The helmet and feathers are hand painted. The red border is sand blasted red flashed glass. the green border is painted and fired with stained glass paints by silk screening. The siz of this window is apx. 18" x 14". There is art work on each piece of glass. The price is apx. $575.00

This crest is hand painted with sand blasted lettering and symbols.
